Chamber & Community Events

  • Annual Meeting the event to honor the Small Business of the Year and to highlight Chamber activities & success.
  • Legislative Breakfast brings our area legislators to discuss issues with local students and community leaders and answer their questions. This event is held before and after the legislative session.
  • Chamber Golf combines a day of fun, food and networking on the links. Members of the Chamber and the community look forward to playing each year.
  • Community Business Expo allows area businesses, schools and organizations to spotlight their goods and services and meet new customers
  • Business After Hours allows members to gather in a relaxed atmosphere and exchange ideas.

     Ribbon Cuttings are held throughout the year at the business’ request and are attended by local officials, Chamber Board members and guests.

Annual Community Events

  • We Be Jammin’ is a concert series held each week from May to September at Barrett’s Landing on the river in Franklin.
  • Patriotism in the Park makes you want to stand up and cheer as a military band plays patriotic music at Barrett’s Landing.
  • The Fourth of July is celebrated all day long in Sedley with food, ball games, a parade and a fireworks display.
  • The Franklin-Southampton County Fair held at the Southampton Agri-Civic Center in Courtland is a four day event featuring livestock, educational & commercial exhibits, home arts and top-notch entertainment.
  • Relay for Life brings out the best in everyone as the community gathers to celebrate life and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
  • Heritage Day takes you back in time at the Southampton Agriculture and Forestry Museum and Heritage Village in Courtland. A grist mill and sawmill operate and local crafters are on hand to do things the old fashioned way. The village is composed of over twenty buildings open to the public.
  • Fall Festival begins with a Friday night street dance and fireworks display at Barrett’s Landing. Saturday, exhibitors line Main Street selling their crafts and good things to eat.

     Art exhibits, community concerts and sporting events provide ongoing leisure activities. There are also outings featuring food of all kinds, golf tournaments, dances and auctions throughout the year hosted by local clubs and organizations.
